Silves has always been known for its beautiful and aromatic gardens. It still is. Along the centuries it has inspired many poets. This is an unique place, where the Mediterranean flowers, smells and colors remind us of ancient times. The first thing that comes to the mind of any Portuguese person you ask about the Algarve is the variety of beaches. They are fantastic. The second is the specific smell. Travelling by car from Lisbon we know that we have reached the Algarve because of the aroma. Coming by plane, any usual traveler will try as quick as possible to inhale the smell of the Algarve to have the feeling of being home, or on friendly earth. The secret is a tiny, sticky, white plant growing on every slope of the Algarve: the "estevas'(Gum Rockrose).In this garden there is a wonderful collection of almost everything that gives these inebriating scents: almond and fig tree, “dama da noite” (Cestrum nocturnum), jasmine, rosemary, lavender, “nêspera” tree (medlar- Mespilus germanica), orange blossom … a flowering paradise.
Silves is a calm and friendly city. It seems as if it stands still in time, and takes us into a
distant past connected to an Islamic culture of which the imprint can still be felt. Visiting
the city one feels the soul and the music of the Arab poets and we enjoy the sweet taste of the oranges. The air we breathe is sweetened by the perfume of the almond trees, the fig trees, the orange trees, or the wild plants growing in the surroundings. The colorful local market deserves a visit. There we can buy all the seasonal and local vegetables, or the most fresh fish.
The café under the arches of the Town hall is another place not to be missed: the typical cakes are here the best, just like the coffee, the garden in front is beautiful the whole year round, and D. Rosa the best of hostesses!
And of course there is much more to see, starting with the castle, the museum, the churches, the library … passing through many different squares and gardens, stairs and corners … each with its own charm!
The mild climate the whole year round is a fantastic invitation to explore and enjoy the unique beauty of the landscape.

There will always be somebody to receive you and show you around the compound. If you have no transport to arrive here, coming from the airport or from the train station, we can organize a taxi to fetch you. Towels and bed linen are included, you must bring your own beach towels. Once a week house cleaning and bed linen changed. Towels are changed every three days.
Low season is from the 15th of October till the 1st of April. Minimum stay one week.

In this enchanting studio you will find a strong Arab influence. The interior wall of the typical red stone has an original antique arched doorway. The blue color of the “azulejos” (literally “blue tiles”) gives this studio it’s name. The thickness of the original walls gives here an unique freshness, and, in the winter the central heating can be used, if necessary.
The garden is an extension of your living room. Romantic, cozy and very comfortable for two people. Due to the unique structure of the house the interior temperature keeps cool even in hot summer days.

A combination of a modern and open space keeping the authentic traditional architecture intact. The overview from the terrace to the garden is superb. Turned to the south it reaches the city, the river and the landscape that surround it. Beyond that we can only imagine that the see begins.
Top comfort and fully equipped, with a big living room, one bedroom with a large double bed, kitchen and bathroom. In the living room the sofa can easily be changed into a comfortable double bed. An open fire, and central heating, on a eco solar-system, for the cooler winter evenings.

Very comfortable house with two bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen and two bathrooms.
One bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has two beds.
Fully equipped kitchen. The living room is spacious and comfortable. For the cooler winter evenings there is a fire place. In the summer the house gives shelter from the heating sun in the middle of the day. There is A-out TV, but the best is the full collection of films in DVD, from the known Dutch film and video distributor "Home Screen” one of the few independent distributors in Europe. Walled patio where one can enjoy a nice meal under a parasol, or the beautiful moonlight. In this specific spot there is an especial perfume coming from a plant that is particularly scented almost the whole year round: The Lady of the Night (Dama da Noite-Cestrum Nocturnum)
